The problem
Campus services at KNUST ran on word of mouth. Finding someone to do laundry, grooming or academic support meant asking around a WhatsApp group and hoping. Providers had no way to be discovered beyond the students who already knew them, and students had no way to compare or verify anyone.
What I built
My final-year project, and the one I led. CampusEase is a mobile-first marketplace scoped deliberately to KNUST: students browse and search providers by service type, providers hold a profile, and a rating system gives both sides something to go on. I led a team of three as full-stack developer, built the React Native client for iOS and Android, and used Firebase for realtime data and authentication.
The outcome
Delivered inside the project timeline, January to July 2024. Cross-platform delivery widened the potential reach by 50%, and Firebase held up through testing with 50+ simulated users. Discovery moved out of group chats and into something searchable.
